Leicester star Jamie Vardy says new contract "will be sorted" amid transfer interest from Prem big guns

Jamie Vardy in action for Leicester

Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool all have the league's current top scorer in their sights but he sounds ready to stay with his surprise league leaders

Jamie Vardy has given table-topping Leicester a huge boost by insisting he WILL sign a new contract.

Vardy, 29, has been offered a 12-month extension to his current deal which will take him up to 2019 – and fend off the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool, who have all shown interest in signing him.

The Foxes' England international striker, currently the Premier League’s top scorer having risen from non-League football as a youngster, said: “It will be sorted. I am leaving that to my agent.”

Vardy, who sees a rise in his £45,000-a-week deal along with big success bonuses, also reckons forthcoming title showdowns with Manchester City and Arsenal will hold no fears for Leicester.

The Midlands club were almost relegated last season, and he added: “Everyone has been writing us off from day one and we’ll go to the next game at Manchester City treating it like any other.”
