Pilipili The mellow-voiced singer joined the daddy’s club recently when he was blessed with a baby girl with his long-time girlfriend. However, the Kamata Dame hit-maker says he would never encourage his daughter to join the industry.

“Never! The reason why we have few female artistes is because it is very tough for them. The filth in the game is a known fact that no one wishes to talk about. Most will be exploited sexually for favours that never come to pass. It is really hard to find genuine players in this game.

Most female artistes have lost their dignity because of what they have had to do in the name of joining the industry. I would never let my daughter go through that. I will have to push her into another career. However, in case I have a son, I might just let him decide what he wants. Boys are tough,” says Pilipili.

Octopizzo Prolific rapper Octopizzo has been through the ups and downs in the showbiz industry, after which he became an admirable success with many upcoming rappers looking up to him. He has two daughters and does not mind them joining the industry.

“Yes. If that is what they wanted I would support them and be their number one fan because I know they would have learnt from the best. I would school them on the industry basics, teach them how to do business with key industry players and even become their brand managers in order to ensure that no one messes around with them,” says Octopizzo.

DJ Soxxy Unlike the secular world where ladies are allowed to be liberal, the gospel world is slightly different with female artistes expected to hold the mantle high.

After years of working with top artistes most of who have come and left the scene, DJ Soxxy admits that he is quite a liberal father and would gladly let his daughter into the showbiz world.

“I believe that she has her options and after giving her an education and making sure that I had done my part, I would totally support her decision to become a musician,” he says.

Kenrazy Ghipuka hitmaker Kenrazy has been quite instrumental in his wife Sosuun’s musical career and he admits that he would also support his daughter who is a star in the making.

“Our daughter Keniana has many talents including comedy and singing. When she was aged one, she would sing, dance and hum to my songs and today she always seems interested in what we do as her parents,” Kenrazy notes.

Abbas The hard-core rapper is no stranger to controversy having been one of the pioneers and shapers of the hip-hop scene.

“I would definitely support her. However, I would first make sure she acquires the necessary education and that it would be her talent and interest that drove her to it,” Abbas says of his daughter.

DJ Wesley Thanks to his wealth of experience in showbiz he was quick to affirm that he would not hesitate to let his daughter Liz onto the showbiz scene if she wanted to pursue that career.

“Yes. I would support my daughter’s decision to become a celebrity because I know that she would be the best at it and I would be there to guide her. As a matter of fact I would link her up with all the right connections, ensure that she got all the assistance she needs,” he remarks.

“It’s very easy for a lady to become famous because they are loveable by nature. Many of those ladies start out with a plan but with time, they tend to get too excited with the industry shenanigans causing them to slacken in their careers. Ladies need to establish themselves and build their brands like their male counterparts so that they can stay relevant for longer,” he notes.

Mbusii The celebrated radio presenter whose rags-to-riches account is a great inspiration to many hints that indeed his three daughters might all join the industry.

“I will support all of them. In fact I think my first daughter will be a radio host. Ako na pang’ang’a sana (She talks too much),” he jokes.

Jalang’o Renowned comedian and presenter Jalang’o is protective of his daughter Zalika. He says if she was to become a celebrity; whether in comedy, music or acting, she would have to show interest and prove that she has what it takes.

“Of course I would support my daughter and make sure that she gets the best resources in line with her career because at the end of it all she would have to have what it takes and a father’s dream is to see his daughter become the best,” Jalang’o says.

Kanda King “My son is already in my dance troop together with my wife. However, if my daughter would wish to join the industry, I would encourage her to pursue a different career path. Ladies have a harder time in the industry. I can’t imagine my daughter dressed skimpily to impress yet the boys need not worry about showing off any skin,” Kanda King notes.

The celebrated dancer and singer says he would instead encourage his daughter into a more accommodating career where she wouldn’t have to try too hard to fit in.
