Diego Maradona slaps journalist for winking at ex-wife

Argentina: Diego Maradona is at the centre of another controversy after slapping a journalist in Argentina.

The 53-year-old was travelling with his children in Buenos Aires when he was stopped by a series of reporters.

And in a bizarre turn of events, the Argentinian legend exited his car before angrily confronting one particular journalist.

Maradona is filmed calling the man an "idiot" before striking him across the face.

The reporter in question is alleged to have winked at Maradona's ex-wife Veronica Ojeda, who is also the mother of his child Diego Fernando.

Last month the ex-footballer was spotted with 25-year-old beauty Evi Amodeo, leading to reports she could be his latest partner.

It of course wouldn't be the first time Maradona had been involved with a much younger woman - although that relationship didn't end well.

Ex-girlfriend Rocio Olivia, 24, is accused of stealing more than £200,000 of valuables from his mansion in Dubai.
