Mombasa perverts still on the loose, prefer public transport

Counties

There have been numerous reports about a breed of men who get busy arm-wrestling with their ‘vessel’ as the real vessel, the ferry, manoeuvres against the tide at the Likoni Ferry crossing.

Crazy Monday can now report that cases of men engaging in self-pleasure are in their all-time high thanks to hordes of voluptuous women that seem to be disturbing these perverts peace.

While at a matatu terminus in the Coastal town, one might as well consider avoiding dressing in a tight hipster, a miniskirt or that silk dress which accentuates the curves and in the process make this breed see an opportunity that they can exploit.

If the scenery is too appealing, it could have a member of this group decide to get up, close and personal by bringing the game to your turf, literally.

Recently, Mishi was waiting for a Bamburi-bound matatu within the town centre when she heard muffled sounds. She turned to look only to see a man covering himself with an opened newspaper using his right hand while engaging in the disgusting conduct with his other hand.

“What shocked me was the man was well-dressed, which made it difficult to believe such a man could do such a despicable act,” says Mishi who requested that we hide her second name.

She said she saw some of the mess, forcing her to leave immediately before the small crowd could notice what was going on. She says only her friend and another girl at the terminus noticed the incident but who they chose to keep quiet despite the shock.

“It makes me imagine that all what men see in a woman is her sexuality and nothing else,” says the girl who claims the incident has traumatized her.

Investigations revealed similar incidents often take place in Bombolulu, Lights, Mtwapa and other matatu termini in the county.

“I witnessed a similar incident about a month ago, but the girl left quickly with her head bowed in shame. She didn’t seem to have the audacity to even castigate the man but a few of us (men) landed on him before he ran away” says Mohamed Bakari who has a business at Lights near Kongowea Market.

Also drug addicts and touts, locally known as mateja, stationed at matatu terminus are known culprits of the act known as Kujichua (masturbation) in correct Swahili and Kujipuli in Coast slang.

“One evening I was at matatu stage in Lights. A teja walked over and told me, “dada uko smart (sister you look smart). He made to and fro trips from where I was” said another girl who we chose to refer as Halima.

Halima says she only stirred when a woman who stood a few yards away shouted “anagalia yule” (hey look at that one) only to turn and see the man engulfed in his own world.

“You can’t imagine how embarrassing it would have been had the dirty teja messed on me,” says Halima cringing.
