Many people today confuse busyness with business.
Everyone of us is configured for a certain path. But very few people ever care to distinguish between pursuing that divinely rewarding path and floating through life like a pilotless balloon. Whenever somebody dares to begin the journey of purpose, purpose begins a journey to fulfill him.
Time-wasting
Something divine, miraculous and uncommon unlocks in the universe when you take charge of your destiny. When we decide to take a step of faith and begin to move in the direction of purpose, there has to be a response in your favour! Many a time, we wait and confuse that for patience — we are actually supposed to be moving!
Patience and time-wasting are two different things. In fact, until we begin, heaven remains shut.
As a matter of fact, the work of our hands, and not the wishes of our minds, are what attracts favour, profit and blessing. Right now, while you claim you have no money to begin, you have the strength, health and the presence of mind to begin. Instead of giving an excuse about what you lack, why don’t you pick a reason to begin using what you already have. You have something! Stop calling it nothing!
You are the single-most important investment towards your greatness - not capital, expertise, experience or external support. You are your own capital and your decision to succeed is the permission you must give yourself. If you are alive, that’s all that is needed. Your potential, purpose and destiny are already a done deal. All you need to do is take a step, and then keep moving and very soon, a whole new world of experiences, breakthroughs and fulfilling opportunities will open up wide for you.
The people you think you need will line up to help after you have started. The connections you want already exist, but you must first begin. Failing to begin is denying yourself and others the opportunity to encounter power, provision, grace and favour at proportions that have only been resident in your wildest and untapped imagination. You are unstoppable; the only person that can stop you, is you!
The time is now and the place is here. If not now, when? If not you, who? If not here, where? Right where you are, you can begin and shock the world. Change is never eventual; it is an instant reward for right decisions. The decision to start is a right one.
Fear of failure
There is never a perfect time to start anything. The first best time was yesterday, the next best time is now. Procrastination is a thief of time. In the guise of perfectionism, many have wasted precious time; waiting for conditions to line up, people to behave right and doors to open. Perfectionism can be counterproductive. You may be a perfectionist, but your support system, people and your target audience may not. Waiting for them to become perfect so that you can begin is like waiting for a ship to dock at the airport!
You have no choice but to overcome the fear of failure. In fact, that is what has stopped countless people from ever starting. The need to look and feel safe is the graveyard of many a dreamer. Failure is the flip side of the coin called success, and it is impossible to achieve one without dancing with the other. In fact, it takes both to tango!
To succeed is to risk failing. You must desire to change your life until the desire births change. In the words of Bill Cosby: “Decide that you want it more than you are afraid of it.” Impossible is only what has not been tried, and until you try, you have no contribution to claim in purpose. I have tremendous respect for people who try. It is proof that they believe there is more to life than anyone has dared to explain. A person with the guts to try possesses the merit to be rewarded with success. In my opinion, there is always a million miles gap between somebody who has began something and one who intends to.
The best way to predict your future is not to see it in dreams and wish it in imagination; it is to create it. The future will remain in the future if your boldness to start today doesn’t get a chance. Your dreams will remain a fairytale and empty fantasy if you do not take a step today in the right direction and convert dreams into realities. The best way to get ahead is to get started. Ask and it shall be given to you. Go and ask for favour, dare to think outside the box, create movement towards your dream and overcome the diseases called; ‘excusitis’ and ‘I can’titis’. Ask because the worst that can happen is to be told no. If you keep wondering what if you fail, pause and ask yourself; ‘What if I succeed?’
