CORD leader Raila Odinga has told the Government to provide title deeds to the Maasai of Kajiado West sub-county.

The Opposition leader said land injustices have been meted out on the Maasai at Mosiro since independence, adding that the majority were living as squatters.

He was speaking at the burial of Mosiro MCA Peter Kurrinyo.

"The Maasai community has suffered for years on land matters due to historical injustices. This is unacceptable and must be solved," he said.

Accompanied by Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye and other leaders, Raila said as Prime Minister in the Grand Coalition Government, he used the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission to establish the truth on the predicaments of the Maasai, and land ownership was one of them.

"You can see for yourself. What has the Jubilee government done apart from just talking about how they want to share positions?" said Raila.

Governor Nkedianye said it was time for locals to look at leaders on the basis of development record and not party affiliation.

"When you elect good leaders you will be happy. Stop looking at parties but elect the best leaders," he said.

Kajiado Assembly Speaker Johnson Osoi said the death of Kurrinyo was a big blow to the county and specifically to the people of his ward.

On the eviction of IEBC commissioners, Raila said he had for a long time restrained his supporters from ejecting from office top managers of the country's electoral body.
