Movie Review ‘Transformers The Last Knight’: When Optimus Prime left, war raged between humans and the Transformers

News
 Optimus Prime

Rating: 7/10

The good and the bad robots once more take on each other in the latest instalment of the Transformers movies as earth is torn apart.

Transformers: The Last Knight portrays advanced aliens, the bad robots, as having mastered the living metal and are eventually developing their own transformers. The alien transformers were created by Quinetessons so as to serve them before they gained sentience and revolted against their creators driving them away.

When Quintessa, one of the Quinetesson creators, returns, she manipulates Optimus Prime into destroying earth for the sake of saving their planet of transformers. She wields control over him and turns him into Nemesis Prime. Midway through the action of destroying earth, Optimus regains control and transforms back to his old good character, speaking in his original voice, and helps his team save earth.

For those who have love for the Transformer movies, it is also good to note that the ending of the movie allows for more transformer movies to follow, so we can expect more thrilling action from the Transformers movies.

Thumbs up

The humour in the movie is well-intentioned and a scene doesn’t end without the theatre bursting into laughter. Cogman, Sir Edmund’s butler, does it for me. Whenever he is in a scene, be ready to burst as he battles his anger-management issues.

Thumbs down

Despite the humour, it is rather difficult to follow the perplexing storyline of the movie. The scenes are rather short and one does not get the chance to acquaint to a particular scene as they are moved rather fast. I mean, did Optimus have to change and be good right in the mid of the act? Wasn’t that so soon?
