A Kakamega woman who gave police false information will wait for a probation report to guide the court on her sentencing.
Margret Mmbone pleaded guilty before a Kakamega court for lying to police constable Samson Boor on September 17, 2016 that her husband, Boyi Ojiambo, had killed their two children whom police found to be alive and hearty when they rushed to what they thought was a scene of crime.
They arrested Mmbone and booked her at the Kakamega Police Station before she was charged. In mitigation, she told the court that, “I have two young children at home who depend on me. Since this is my first offence, I plead with the court to forgive and release me. I won’t repeat the offence.”
The court ordered her to stay in custody as they look into her life to determine her character pending sentencing.
