Binge eating

Emotional eating

Fad diets

Hunger problems and

Reducing your activity level

Serious cravings will always come knocking and you will be tempted to have a bite or two of anything that feels good. You have to make a conscious decision and effort to stay on track and stick to changes you have already made.

Some of the key strategies you can do to avoid regaining the weight and guarantee success are as follows:

Eating a diet that is controlled in fat and calories

Engaging continuously in moderate high levels of physical activity be it exercising, doing house chore or having fun.

Maintaining a pattern of eating that is consistent and does not have large gaps.

Monitoring yourself in order to catch slips before they turn into large weight regains.

Eating breakfast regularly

Monitoring your weight on regular basis.

The reason you need to take a proper breakfast regularly, especially after shedding weight, is that it helps kick start your metabolism and ensures you don’t go hungry any time before lunch. Your breakfast should at least consist of some portions of protein, light carbs and less of fatteners or calorie-dense snacks.

If you feel like crunching later in the day, opt for things like fibre dense fruits to fill you up rather than sugary snacks like muffins, donuts and chocolates which otherwise can add some unnecessary calories to what you already lost. Water can still work fine because not only does it cleanse your system, but it can rejuvenate and fill that gap until your next meal.

Another good option is to find a personal trainer or fitness expert and use them at frequent intervals so that you can continue to stay on track during your exercise programmes. By simply following guidelines of a regular exercise each week, you will quickly reap benefits and stabilise your new weight whilst simultaneously keeping yourself healthy for a long time to come.
