Father of three mauled by neighbour’s dogs after complaining of his loud music

UK:   A father of three was savaged by two dogs when he went to complain about a neighbour’s loud music.

Postie Keith Chadwick, 36, was bitten in the face, body and legs by the Staffordshire bull terriers.

He is in hospital and will need plastic surgery.

The postman’s brother Steve, 35, said: “He nearly lost an eye.”

His family also told of the repeated concerns he had raised with police and the RSPCA about the animals.

It is claimed Keith was facing an early start to his postal delivery round the next day when he went next door to complain about loud music.

Keith's 16-year-old son desperately tried to haul the dogs off his father.

The dogs were seized and the neighbour, 21, arrested and bailed on suspicion of having dogs dangerously out of control in Accrington, Lancs.

Police said: “This was a very nasty biting incident.”

Steve said his brother owns a Staffordshire terrier himself.

He said: “Keith is actually upset that these dogs will probably have to be put down. He knows they are not naturally bad.

“He is happy for these pictures to be used if it warns people of the dangers involved with badly brought up dogs.”
