It’s an ideal inspiration, Vision 2030 says of expo

Vision 2030 has given the Ideal Interiors Expo a thumbs-up, describing it as “Eastern Africa’s inspirational interior design business platform”.

Speaking during the 6th edition of the expo last week in Nairobi, Wainaina Gituro, Director General of Vision 2030, noted that the interiors industry is one of the key economic drivers of in the country, injecting over Sh20 billion into the economy.

These figures, he said, were impressive and should inspire stakeholders to grow the interiors market further.

“Kenya's Vision 2030 is proud to endorse the Ideal Interiors Expo since it serves as one important platform with a focus to growing the real estate arena,” he said.

Flanked by industrialist Manu Chandaria, the chairman of Comcraft group, Prof Gituro said more emphasis should be put on showcasing Kenyan interior products at expos across the country and beyond East Africa.

The annual expo brings together interior designers, architects and contractors, home developers, home owners and hoteliers who showcase their products and get ideas to make their projects better.

It quenches the thirst of those yearning for aesthetically appealing spaces, technologically advanced appliances and sustainable breeds of creative interiors.

Last week’s event attracted 78 exhibitors and about 4,800 visitors.

“This event aims at ensuring that buildings are developed with interiors in mind. Over the last six years, it has transformed the way developers style homes,” Humphrey Odhiambo, CEO Ideal Interiors East Africa, said.

He attributed the success of the event to changing lifestyles and demand for quality products and services.

During the event, Jackie Wanga emerged the luckiest visitor as she was picked as the winner of a KOLMA Kitchen fitted with Newmatic Africa appliances worth about Sh500,000.

Queen Peaks Furniture, Victoria Kitchens, Jabali Furnitures, MEPS Security, Nairobi Timber and Super Bargains Hardware emerged winners in various categories.

“We decided to do something out of the box in this year’s expo and we are glad we have bagged an award for it. I also want to congratulate the others exhibitors who have won awards,” said Yusuf Ali of Super Bargains Hardware, after the company bagged the exceptional creativity award.
