Jailing of Teachers Service Commission boss Gabriel Lengoibon extended

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Secretary Gabriel Lengoiboni

The High Court has extended orders suspending sentencing of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Secretary Gabriel Lengoiboni, for contempt of court following the commission's failure to pay retired teachers their dues amounting to Sh42 billion.

Nakuru High Court judge Anyara Emukule, yesterday yet again, extended the suspension orders for 21 more days. During the previous mention of the judicial review filed by a section of the 52,000 retirees, Justice Emukule said TSC will have to pay the teachers more than the Sh42.3 billion owed to them.
