Nairobi, Kenya: The Central Organizations of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli wants the national government to take up the responsibility of paying salaries for doctors and nurses.
Atwoli said county governments have no capacity to pay doctors and nurses adding that matters of health services cannot be devolved.
Addressing a press conference in Nairobi Saturday, Atwoli said nurses and doctors will be going on strike because of delayed salaries.
"We have to review the Constitution because matters concerning healthcare cannot be devolved. This will lead to financial crisis in the country," said Atwoli.
