Kenyan spoken word artiste Jey Trevor is set to elevate his craft in 2025 with a slate of soul-stirring projects aimed at sparking societal change which he hopes will impact his community in a positive way.

Fresh off a breakout 2024 that saw his listenership surge, he promises deeper and more refined work. Planning to blend emotions with themes of collective growth and blending raw emotion with themes of resilience, self-discovery, and collective growth.

He undoubtedly plans to release back-to-back pieces of poetry, each reflecting real-time emotions and lived experiences.

“My art is about empowering people to reflect and grow,” he says, teasing collaborations with like-minded artists and immersive live performances.

Fans can expect poetry interlaced with storytelling, amplified by new sonic experiments that challenge his creative boundaries.

Trevor says he channels his childhood inspirations into work that marries entertainment with activism.

“Poetry helps me process the world,” he says, vowing to stay authentic while exploring fresh sounds. His mystery-driven approach keeps audiences hooked: “My next step is always a surprise.”

For Trevor, evolution means staying rooted in purpose while embracing discomfort. “Growth demands risks, new styles, perspectives, and sounds,” he says.

Yet, his core remains unchanged, storytelling that resonates globally. “Ignore trends, trust your voice, and grind without validation,” he tells other young upcoming poets.
