It is always a girl’s dream to have a lavish wedding with her ‘prince charming’ which many of us look for our whole lives but one woman decided to quit searching and marry the one person she had always loved, herself.
Houston woman Yasmin Eleby, made a promise to herself that if she hadn’t found a husband by 40, she would marry herself and that’s what she did on her 40th birthday. According to Black Art In America, her sisters got to be her bridesmaids while her mother danced her down the aisle.
The ceremony was held at the Houston Museum of African American Culture. She expressed her appreciation on her Facebook page saying, “I want to thank everyone again for coming out help me celebrate turning the big 4-OH!!!”
Yasmin plans on visiting Cambodia, Laos, and the jazz festival in Dubai this year, which will also serve as her honeymoon.
