Jaguar’s “street boys” buy their own ride

Jaguar donating bus By Sheila Kimani (@sheilakimm)

Besides doing music, singer Charles Kanyi  a.k.a Jaguar is big on charity work and he has helped transform live for many of his fans. So far he has helped out in paying school fee, clearing medical fee and running his own businesses.

A while ago, Jaguar helped five youths from Ngara get off the streets by buying them mikokotenis with which they could run their own businesses and fend for their lives rather than running the streets.

To further motivate them he promised that he would help them buy a bus or matatu with which they could further expand their businesses if they save substantial amounts of money starting from 50,000.

“Some earned a living through crime, others were lost in drugs and alcohol abuse, today they see life a whole lot differently.” Jaguar said.

Well as soon as the young men managed to save Kshs. 600, 000, Jaguar came through ready to keep his end of the promise.

“Delighted I was able to mentor these youth grow their business. Withdrawing from crime, alcohol and drug abuse, they started out with carts (mikokoteni) which I purchased for them a couple of years back. They recently approached me with an idea for a 33-seater matatu.  “I was glad to assist. Wishing them the best”, he affirmed in regards to helping the boys purchase a matatu.

The youths will now have their bus running in the Thika road routes and any pending loan payments shall be cleared over the stipulated time frames.

Photos of Jaguar and the youths receiving the bus has led to fans congratulating him with others seeking financial help from him. Perhaps some, maybe those lucky enough, will get financial assistance from the “One Centimeter” singer.
