You are God’s Masterpiece!

I was going through my bible and in Ephesians 2:10, there lay the magic words that changed my view of life and gave me joy and smile, “For we are God’s Masterpiece.” “I am God’s Masterpiece?” How awesome? How amazing? How powerful?

Masterpiece “the best piece of work” Kumbe! (Alas!)  I am God’s best piece of work! Looking at my life and one thing was clear, I was not like the rest, I had a hidden treasure inside me, I was filled by potential, approved by the Creator himself and he looked at me and said “Peter, you are my masterpiece” “My best Piece of work” then I heard this voice, “Get out of your comfort zone. Take a step of faith. You can’t play it safe and expect to reach your highest potential.” Take a step of faith Peter!

My life changed, it no longer mattered what people said about me, I was no longer bothered by the painful words that were spoken about me, had a different perspective of life. I told “ME” that I was going to lead a life of a masterpiece, the best piece of God’s creation. This meant shaking off that which added no value to me, it meant

  •      Being bold enough to say NO! to negativity
  •      Shaking off anyone who intimidates me.
  •      Silencing the voices within me that told me “Huwezi hiyo (You can’t handle that)
  •      Choosing to listen to the positives
  •      Smiling at my adversaries’ plans to bring me down
  •      Renewed focus in life

I made a decision; each day was going to be a day of value, each minute was going to be spent to add value in life, this also meant connecting and spending time with the right persons. As a masterpiece, my association was going to be with other masterpieces, “Birds of same feather, flock together?” I believe that is what they said, and yes; Masterpieces that were going to drive me to my success camp side, and not hangers on who are after what I have and not who I am and where I am going.

Pete but the bible teaches about loving your neighbor, you can’t possibly choose to have a class of people you associate with, leaving the rest as if they are of no value? Yes, the holy book teaches about love, I was not going to hate anyone, I still love and cherish everyone but as a masterpiece, I have a duty to inspire generations to come, I have a duty to fulfill my potentials, climb the best social-economic corporate ladders that life has to offer. I will not be able to live this dream if my cliques of friends are people who have not discovered their potentials, hangers on; No. that isn’t my portion, my portion is to connect with right people, people who have discovered that they are masterpieces.

<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->
<!--[endif]-->

I discovered that in me, lay the seeds of greatness, eagerly waiting to explode, seeds of success. I was equipped, empowered, and watched over by the creator of the universe GOD. I was not going to let him down; I was not going to please friends and displease my maker. God wants me to fulfill my potential, he wants to see the seeds of greatness germinating and blossoming into great fields of greatness, great fields of positive impact across the globe, I had a duty, yes I had a duty to live my dreams and please my master.

<!--[endif]-->

Was it going to be a smooth sail into greatness? Oh No, it’s a journey I expect negative voices of “You Can’t” “Pete that is not possible” “That is too tough” “You don’t have the money” all through my answer will be “If you don’t believe in me, then outta my life, get thee away from me evil one, you ain’t part of my journey.” A journey I eagerly wait for intimidation and hatred again my answer will be “It doesn’t matter anymore what you think of me, so long as I am headed for the right journey, your hatred and intimidation, only serve to make me stronger, they give me morale to move forward, so if you want to hate, please do” A journey of fake sycophantic friends, who will travel with you because of the benefits of being part of your crew but not adding value to the journey, my answer will be, “As the journey proceeds, they will find themselves the odd ones out, slowly they will drop out, slowly the journey will be too tough, they will look for short-cuts to success, short cuts that will throw them out”

<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->
<!--[endif]-->

Some will dismiss me as too ambitious and too aggressive, they will give me deadlines for failure, deadlines of falling back, they will turn into prophets and give prophecy of my downfall, their prophecy will come to pass yes, but they will be surprised that each time I fall, I stand up stronger and re-energized, they will give more prophecy of my failure, not knowing that I have a secret, I discovered my potential, I had seeds of greatness in me that were germinating, they will not know that the downfalls and the rising up, is as a result of the germinating seeds of success that are looking for better ground to create camp and announce to the world that we are here. Theirs will be predictions of failure and prophecy of down falls, but woo unto them, because when the seeds of greatness suddenly germinate, grow and produce fruits of success, it will be too late for them to bear, they will shake my hands with respect and honor. God will cause them to lack that which I have, they will come back and apologize, and they will serve me.

<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->
<!--[endif]-->

So as a masterpiece with seeds of greatness, I don’t expect the journey of success to be a smooth road, I don’t expect everything on a silver platter, I will be cheating ME. I expect and eagerly wait to lose friends, break relationships that will not be ready to weather the storm and the rocky road towards success. I will  however, smile to myself when I reach the camp side of my success, put down my pack bag, look around to see who made it with me. I will look to the heavens and say “Thank you Daddy, for these are the right people who are meant for me”

<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->
<!--[endif]-->

You are a masterpiece, God’s best creation, you have seeds of greatness in you, but before they germinate and produce fruits of success, be ready to weather the storm, be ready for such things as “You can’t” “You are too young/old” “It needs a lot of money” “You are inexperienced” “So and so tried, it failed” “I am not ready to be with you, I am going to a better place” etc., If you concur this and many more other turbulence, I promise you, your name will be alive to tell your story.

<!--[endif]-->

Remember, you are a masterpiece, God’s own creation, approved by him, protected by him, fed by him, don’t let him down. Stand firm against negativeness and intimidation, stand firm against your enemies, don’t hate, instead love them that hate you, don’t fight, instead pray for them that fight you, don’t look down upon anyone, instead be there for them that need care and support. When you have faith despite how the situation looks, God will move heaven and earth to do what He promised.
