Salim Said Nassoro, Ummy Salim and Elizabeth Njoki Wanjiru denied the charges before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo at the Milimani Law Courts. The three were arrested in Mlolongo, Nairobi, on September 2, 2016.

"The evidence so far gathered heavily implicates the accused persons in the illegal trade of trafficking in narcotics and there is a high likelihood of conviction," the court heard.
