Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Rachael has asked residents of Taita Taveta to support the Jubilee Government in next year’s polls.

She said the community had never been in the Opposition since independence and should, therefore, not allow itself to be out of government. “Taita and Taveta have always been in government since independence.

The community should ensure that they are in government in 2017,” she said. Mrs Ruto made the remarks at Voi CDF Hall yesterday when she addressed hundreds of women groups in the county on the need to embrace table banking.

“If you empower women you are empowering the whole nation. We will ensure that women are trained to effectively manage their business to change their lives,” she said. She was accompanied by Deputy Governor Mary Kibuka and Hope Mruttu, wife of Governor Mruttu.
