Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has failed to endorse Vihiga County Assembly members for another term. He failed to do this during his address to the house yesterday.

Mr Mudavadi told the MCAs that his visit to the assembly to address members was specifically driven by his love for devolution.

"I did not come here to condemn you, and neither did I come to endorse you. I have nothing personal against any of you. I came to share my thoughts on devolution and say it must remain strengthened to avoid pitfalls," Mudavadi said.

He added: "Prepare how you will account to the people who voted for you. I wish you well as you go to the homestretch of your term."

Mudavadi, who was addressing the assembly for the first time, warned the leaders that voters are ruthless. They may deal with the leaders just like they dealt with him before when he faltered.

A majority of MCAs expected Mudavadi to endorse their bid for the next term and grant them safe accomodation in his ANC party.

Fifteen of the 25 elected MCAs in the county assembly belong to UDF. Mudavadi urged the ward legislators to help him oust the Jubilee government which has lacked the will to support devolution. He also noted that Kenyans must demand explanations why billion meant for devolution have been misappropriated.
