Kenya Commercial Bank will on Friday close an hour early to begin a weekend-long upgrade of its core banking system.

According to a statement from the group, the upgrade, which will start at 3pm on Friday, will cover all its branches in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and Burundi. Normal operations will resume on Monday.

During this period, ATMs, mobile banking and point of sale payments will not be interrupted.

Upgrading the system, the bank said, would provide its customers with a simpler and more enhanced banking experience. — Patrick Alushula
