The Mau Region Secondary Schools Sports Association Term Two B Games kick off this morning with the first football and volleyball preliminary matches at Narok and Maasai Girls High schools.

The teams taking part in football are Menengai from Nakuru County, Cheptenye from Kericho and Chemase from Nandi. The trio are in an upbeat mood in the race for the boys’ football title.

The three teams are in Pool B alongside Boito from Bomet who are considered minnows in that group.

The first victory from any of them gives the winner an advantage in the race to clinch the ticket to the national championships to be hosted in Eldoret next month.

Cheptenye coach Kibet Sang said his main threat is Chemase and not bothered about Menengai.

Pool A has Olasiti from Narok, Simotwo from Elgeyo Marakwet, Kabarnet High School from Baringo and Umoja from Uasin Gishu.
