Homa Bay Commissioner forms WhatsApp group to fight crime

Homabay county commissioner has formed a digital social group to enable residence collaborate in fighting crime.

Speaking at Homa Bay County stadium during Madaraka Day celebrations, County Commissioner Kassim Farrah said the WhatsApp group will enhance communication between his office and the public.
He gave the public a mobile line 0717180094, which they are expected to use in expressing their views and grievances pertaining to security and National Government services in the area.
"I have realised there are many people who have crucial information that can help us improve security of this county but they fear or lack time in accessing our offices. Let everybody take advantage of the WhatsApp platform to express their security opinions," he said.
Farrah assured locals that his office was open for every resident with security issues in the area.
"The National Government is committed to acquisition of services and ensuring safety of Homa Bay residents. We are also going to create more divisions in Homa Bay Sub County which has only Asego Division to ensure the residents get the services," he added.
The Commissioner called on the residents to co-operate with both the National and County Governments to enhance economic prosperity in the county.
