With the Rio Olympics just around the corner, there are few inspired tips you can include in your exercise to reap benefits of training just the way most Olympians do.

Here are some of them:

Simple steps: First, you have to set your goal and break them down into simple steps, if you are either planning for a marathon, long outdoor nature walk, mountain climbing, it is advisable to start training gradually then pick up the pace if your body feels there is a need for more. If you feel you can do more be it doing cardio or strength training, just go ahead but don’t overexert.

Mix it up: Be sure to include cross training in your routine, cross training reduces the risk of overtraining, enhance your muscular performance, help to avoid injury and help prevent boredom. Try either different exercises or sports at the same time.

Turn it up: Include some High Interval Intense Training (HIIT) in your routine. This is the type of training techniques in which you give your all, you give it all out, you give your 100 per cent effort through quick intense bursts of exercise followed by short but sometime active recovery period.

 It is the type of training that gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. It is made up of high but continuous exercises that increases your body’s need for oxygen during the effort and creates an oxygen shortage causing your body to ask for more oxygen during recovery.

Find a mate: Well, an exercise partner. Just sharing that spirit of competition and encouragement will surely help keep your motivation at high level. You might also gain training benefits from working out with others with different levels of abilities.

Get help: Consider also getting people who can help you achieve your goal, such as a nutritionist, personal trainer or even a physician. Just select the one that works best for you.
