Standard Group shines in media awards gala among them celebrated sports journalist Isaack Omulo Okoth

Standard Group journalists excelled during the Fifth Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA) gala, held on Tuesday taking home several awards.

The Sports reporting award for print media category was awarded to celebrated Standard Newspaper Sports journalist and writer Isaack Omulo Okoth (in the picture), with the same award for TV category being won by NTV journalists Edmond Nyabola and Stephen Mwei.

Mr Omulo Okoth, who was not present during the award ceremony, took to social media to acknowledging his reward.

"Woke up early today to the pleasant surprise that I was declared the winner of the AJEA sports reporting award during the Media Council of Kenya excellence awards gala night. Thought it was a good sign-off after three decades of service and I knelt down to thank God for that recognition by MCK panellists.
