Pulse: Where are your go-to places to shop?
Crystal Olisa: I love to shop at Toi Market for thrift buying. The variety I get there is mind blowing, and I always leave with something unique. I recently got a Louis Vuitton bucket bag that I had been dying to get my hands on.
P: What’s your favourite body asset?
CO: I think my eyes are my best feature, but I love showing lots of leg in my blog posts.
P: Who was the last fashion forward popular person you followed on Instagram?
CO: Style by Ada because her posts are so effortlessly chic. I also love her variety, because she doesn’t just stick to one style of posting. Plus her afro is to die for.
P: What are the most expensive and cheapest fashion items in your closet?
CO: The cheapest are a bunch of really cute sheath dresses I bought from Adams Arcade for Sh50 and the most expensive is a black pair of leather and suede knee-length boots.
P: If money were no object what lifestyle piece would you own?
CO: Every Hermes bag ever made – I love them.
P: How do you keep abreast with current trends?
CO: I love reading blogs. They’re a great source of street style inspiration and an easy way of finding interesting people to follow on Instagram for daily inspiration.
P: What’s the worst fashion crime you ever committed?
CO: Being overly ambitious with colour-blocking – I ended up looking like a rainbow and wishing I could just run home and change.
P: What fashion trend do you think should be done away with?
CO: See-through leggings; there’s nothing cute about that at all.
P: Who’s your ideal man like?
CO: An introvert like me. I like a macho man who’s kind and respectful to everyone, so he has to have a big heart.
P: What celebrity’s style makes you want to raid their closet?
CO: Kylie Jenner. I love her new style because she transitions from skin tight dresses to sweat pants and kicks so naturally, and her wig collection is what my dreams are made of.
P: If you weren’t blogging, what else would you be doing?
CO: I would be a full-time photographer. I love telling stories through my lens, and if I weren’t already doing that on my blog I would do it for other people for a living.
P: What’s the best part about blogging?
CO: Connecting with people from around the world and getting to collaborate with local people that I would have otherwise never found out about.
