DMX had a brush with death when he was reportedly found unconscious and not breathing in the car park of a Ramada Inn in New York.
The 45-year-old rapper did not have a pulse when he found by police on Monday night, and it is said they saved his life when they responded to the call just after 6pm.
According to TMZ, they quickly determined he was lifeless as they arrived on the scene, spotting him next to a parked car.
The report adds that they immediately began CPR, and after a minute his pulse returned as he became semi-conscious, before being taken to hospital.
DMX - who had bronchitis for a couple of days before the incident - remembers having shortness of breath, while a family member added to TMZ that he asked for his asthma inhaler , although they couldn't get it to him in time.
He is said to be in hospital, in a stable condition.
