Murder suspect takes his own life in police cell

A man who had been in police custody for killing his brother-in-law has committed suicide. Homa Bay OCPD Esau Ochorokodi said the 29-year-old hang himself using a shirt in the toilet. The body was discovered by police officers conducting a routine inspection.

"My officers noticed that Oyamo was not with his colleagues. They were told he had gone to the toilet. They went to the toilet and found the body dangling upon opening the toilet door," Ochorokodi said.
