ODM primaries will be fair, says Ababu Namwamba

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has assured party members and aspirants of free and fair nominations ahead of the 2017 General Election.

Speaking on Sunday at Riosiri market in South Mugirango Constituency in Kisii County, Mr Namwamba said the nominations would be transparent.

"We have experienced chaos in our party nominations in the past. This should be history as we prepare to take over leadership of this country in the next General Election," said Namwamba.

Youthful South Mugirango ODM aspirant Sylvanus Osoro, who hosted Namwamba, said he was optimistic that the party would clinch victory in 2017 polls.

"We will not take chances. We have laid enough ground work to send home the Jubilee Government," said Mr Osoro.

The two leaders said this even as the party leader Raila Odinga asked governors and MPs to spearhead  voter registration ahead of the next polls.

The leaders also hit out at the Jubilee Government for what they termed as harassment of CORD leaders.
