Kenya Power end year net profit jumps to Sh7 billion

NAIROBI, KENYA: Kenya Power has recorded Sh7.4 billion net profit for the year ended June 30 up from Sh6.9 billion realized in 2014.

In a statement, company Chairman Kenneth Marende said the sales of electricity grew by over five per cent mainly due to improved economic performance and growth in number of customers.

“Revenue from electricity sales increased by 24.3 per cent to Sh77,836 million up from Sh62597 million in the previous year. This is attributed to the rise in number of customers, improved power supply, tarrif review and economic growth,” he said.
