Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria arrested, locked up at Kilimani Police Station over hate speech

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria

Kenya: Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was yesterday arrested and held in police custody for nearly five hours over alleged hate speech.

Kuria faces prosecution for his utterances in a video clip encouraging youth to attack with machetes, people who oppose NYS projects.

The move came after DPP Keriako Tobiko ordered that he take plea over an incident in July.

He is alleged to have told panga-wielding youth in Kiambu in July to fight those criticising NYS projects.
