defiling his daughter but had already sought forgiveness.
A city court was left in shock after a man accused of defiling and impregnating his daughter pleaded guilty to the offence.
Stephen Ngui, 50 , told the court during the mention of the case on July 17 that he had been defiling his daughter but had already sought forgiveness.
It is alleged that Ngui intentionally defiled the 14-year-old girl between January 10 and February 2015 in Ruai .
According to police, the accused first defiled his daughter in January when his wife was away. The court heard that Ngui called her daughter to the bedroom, where he allegedly ordered her to undress before forcing her into a sexual act for more than an hour.
In February, the prosecution said, the accused again forcefully had sex with the girl after her mother left early for work. It is alleged that Ngui summoned his daughter to his bed where he allegedly defiled her before threatening to kill her and her mum if she revealed that they have been having sex.
In the third instance, the court was told that Ngui sneaked to the girl’s room at night when everyone was asleep and threatened to strangle her if she screamed. It is said that he went on to undress the girl before defiling her for about an hour.
Police records show that the minor became pregnant as a result. She allegedly started developing changes in her body which were noticed by her teachers.
The girl’s mother narrated to police how she started noticing her daughter’s changing behaviour which she linked to pregnancy. The girl is said to have denied having any relationship outside the home.
When the mother attempted to raise the matter of their daughter’s changing behaviour, which she suspected to be symptoms of pregnancy, Ngui reportedly dismissed her concerns and asked her to their daughter be.
After much pleading and probing about who was responsible for the pregnancy, the girl revealed to her mother on July 14 how her father had been defiling her and threatening to kill the entire family should she reveal what was happening.
Ngui was arrested and charged with incest. He pleaded with the court for forgiveness because he was the sole breadwinner in the family.
“My parents died in 1980 and my two children and mother depend on me. Kindly set me free,” he pleaded.
He will be remanded until a ruling on the matter, which is scheduled for August 12.
