Speed up airstrip expansion, says Jambojet CEO

Jambojet has called for expansion of Lamu and Ukunda airports to be fast-tracked, saying delays are hurting its business.

Speaking at the official opening of a Jambojet office in Diani, Ukunda yesterday, CEO Willem Hondius (pictured) said the airline is finding it hard to cope with increased traffic caused by Ukunda Airport's slow pace of expansion.

"We have established that delay in awarding of tenders is the reason behind delay of construction work at the airport. We have been in touch with Kenya Airports Authority over the matter but with little progress," he said.
