The incident happened during a wedding at Bardwell Baptist Church in Carlisle County on Saturday.

Pianist Jeanine King she was just leaving the service when she heard the shot.

"My initial reaction was, 'Oh my goodness. Could that possibly be a gun?'" she said.

She said once she heard the officer call for his mum, she knew something terrible had happened.

As Golightly’s mum, who has not been named, was being tended to he said to her: “Mom, breathe and be calm. Be calm."
