Poll: President Uhuru Kenyatta’s popularity drops by 10 points, majority say teachers should shun NE Kenya

President Uhuru Kenyatta

NAIROBI: President Uhuru Kenyatta's popularity nosedived ten percentage points after the terror attack at the Garissa University College.

A study by Ipsos Kenya released early Friday shows the approval ratings dropped from 76 per cent to 66 per cent. This is also buttressed by a finding that three out of every five Kenyans (60 per cent) think "the country is headed in the wrong direction". Besides, eight out of every ten Kenyans think Al Shabaab is "very much a threat" to Kenya, but Kenyans are split over the presence of Kenyan troops in Somalia.
