South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka will be making an appearance at this year’s Koroga Festival.
The May 15 concert at Arboretum will not be her first performance in Kenya, but it has been a while since Nairobians paid to see her on stage.
Yvonne, who has close ties with Kenya through her work with First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and fellow musician Suzzana Owiyo, is always in and out of the country.
She even adopted a son from Kenya.
The world-renowned artiste from South Africa has been hailed as one of the greatest South African artistes, her name being mentioned in the same breath as Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela and Brenda Fassi.
She has released some of the most recognisable African tunes like Umqombothi, Motherland and Makoti.
