Former war child Emmanuel Jal is in Nairobi to sing for the elephants.
Not literally, but he is part of the line-up that will be performing at the Stand For Elephants on February 28 at the UN headquarters in Gigiri.
This project is part of the upcoming worldwide release of a new anthem, Tusimame. It brings together an attractive mesh of Africa’s most inspiring artistes (from Tanzania, Congo-Brazzaville, Kenya and Sudan) and will make a momentous musical roar to protect African elephants.
“I’ll be joining the main stage alongside Sauti Sol, Sarabi and the Tusimame stars Juliani, Syssi Mananga and Vanessa Mdee. Right after we shoot, what will be one of Africa’s most memorable music videos,” Jal said.
The track’s recording took place on November 22, 2014 in Nairobi.
Emmanuel will then stay in Kenya for a week to shoot the video of the song alongside Juliani.
