A woman was charged at a city court for allegedly drugging and stealing from her boyfriend.
Doreen Kangai Mutegi, aka Shantel, was accused of stealing Michael Ouma’s items valued at Sh134, 000 on January 2 at Railways quarters in Ngara.
Ouma claimed that he only knew Doreen by one name, Shantel, in the five years they had been dating.
He claimed that on the fateful day, Shantel offered to cook him dinner and she invited her friends to his place.
After the meal, he claimed, he started feeling dizzy and passed out.
He allegedly woke the following day feeling weak. He said his shaving machine, four bottles of expensive cologne and a television set were missing.
He reported the matter to police who managed to arrest Shantel 12 days later.
Shantel however pleaded, “It is not true that I drugged him. We have dated for more than five years, and he is making such allegations because I have never given him a child for during that period.”
She was set free on a Sh50,000 cash bail.
Her case will be heard on February 9.
