Family of Isiolo twins seeks answers

Mystery surrounds an Isiolo family whose daughter was married last December, with the groom promising to take his wife and her twin sister to South Africa, only for them to be rescued at the border town of Moyale.

The family says the man married their 20-year-old daughter who is a Form Four leaver in Isiolo town and promised to take her to South Africa along with her twin sister, who also has secondary education.

The mother of the twins (name withheld for security reasons) told the Press in an estate in Isiolo town yesterday that the man came along with three of his colleagues and they negotiated the marriage.

The marriage took place on December 5, last year.

"He was to give an initial dowry of Sh50,000, which he is yet to pay," she said.

But yesterday, Isiolo OCPD Daniel Kamanza said he could not comment on the matter.

"I have nothing to say even if you come with the clips (of the video). I have no comment to make," he said.
