Those unforgiving straps

‘My dress, my choice’. I wonder if that conviction also applies to walking around braless. Perhaps it would be a worthwhile campaign. For guys who have no idea what we experience, here you go, if you care to know.

Let’s start at the shop where getting the right fit is no mean feat for most. You either get it too small or a cup size bigger, the jury is still out on which is worse. Another may be too cute to let go and for the ‘smart’ ones, this is the key to the unwitting push-up that never was.

A few hours later your back gets tight and before you know it your back, rib cage and shoulders are in agony from the pain the straps give. These ones, you will see slouching in the streets or constantly stretching their necks.

For those who overestimate their endowments, there is no escaping the physical flaw. The unfilled cap shows on their tight outfits and one wrong slip could provide a free show to unsuspecting viewers.

If you survive all that, there is another small matter of fabric. One cannot understand why women will wear heavy, flowery coloured bras that are visible through light clothing or tops. The unnecessary colours clash with the outfit and what’s more, you cannot stop passers-by from staring and addressing the chest area. How about this simple idea: invest in a mirror.

When the weather gets chilly, it can get pretty revealing in this super-light wear.

Yet I guess this cannot be as bad as getting the colour wrong. Correct me if I am wrong, is it not the same as wearing hot pink underwear with a light, white pair of trousers?

Back to you guys, for those of you who do not think a bra should be seen, too bad, deal with it. When it comes to the strapless ones, these discreet maidens can be a lifesaver... or the exact opposite. They will keep the girls in position while giving you room to wear whatever you want but they can cause the most unimaginable embarrassment too.

Extended walking, standing and dancing will give gravity an easy walk through to push it down, kicking in the annoying impulse to push things up.

A quick one, if you do not already know, for those guys who fall for ‘what you see is what you get’, beware. There is a little devil called the push-up, which is comfortable for most wearers, those with peaches are enabled to have melons.

Then of course we have those girls who choose to go ‘commando’ for good measure. I mean who even said we have to wear one in the first place?
