Council for Governors chair Isaac Ruto: Stop stirring tribal conflict in Narok

NAROK, KENYA: Council for Governors chair Isaac Ruto has told off a section of leaders opposed to Narok Governor Samuel Tunai style of leadership.

Ruto regretted that the leaders were invoking their tribal and clan interests at the expense of service delivery.

"I want to tell those leaders led by Narok Senator Stephen Ole Ntutu and Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno to stop their selfish interest and respect the leadership of Narok County for the sake of service delivery," said Ruto.

He was speaking at Ndaraweta Ward during the Ward's agricultural show where he accused the duo of trying to destabilise the running of the county government of Narok for selfish interest.

Ruto alleged that leaders were trying to stir tribal and clan conflict in order to evict non Maasai from the Narok section of Mau forest.

"We are shocked that they are directing their war on Governor Tunai while in the real sense they are targeting communities they are alleging to have invaded forest in Narok," he said.

He said the government should investigate the senator's intention for leading demonstration against governor Tunai saying it was more than poor governance in Narok.
