MCAs warn contractors

Kericho, Kenya: Members of Kericho County Assembly are up in arms against some road contractors awarded tenders in the county. Speaking in Nyagacho estate during the official opening of a chief’s camp, the MCAs led by Kipchimchim member Bernard Mutai and Joel Siele (Kipchebor) said they would lobby for blacklisting of contractors who have done shoddy works.

“Some contractors awarded tenders to improve roads have not fulfilled their contractual terms,” said Mutai. In the past, clerics led by Rev Joyce Tonui of African Gospel Church pleaded with the county government to ensure road contractors complete works before being paid their dues.
