Manchester United to race for Ozan Tufan

Fenerbahce Ozan Tufan

Manchester United have shifted their attention to Fenerbahce Ozan Tufan after a £28million bid for Roma defender Kostas Manolas was rejected.

According to mirror sports, Jose Mourinho is believed to be hunting more for defenders despite an earlier landing of Eric Bailly from Villarreal this summer.

Reports indicate that Manolas was the man that United decided to go for however, their initial offer has been turned down.

Other clubs that were interested the Greek star include Chelsea and Arsenal but it appears that he is currently mulling over a new contract in Rome.

United are set to battle with Sunderland, Everton and Southampton for the 21-year-old Fenerbahce midfielder's signature.

Fenerbahce manager described Ozan Tufan as being "on the level of Yaya Toure".

However, any club wanting to land Tufan will have to stump up the cash to buy him out of his contract at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium as he has four years left on his deal.
