Widow seeks special damages from MP

Widow of a man who died in a road accident involving Mathira MP Peter Weru's vehicle last year now wants the legislator to pay her general and special damages.

Milliam Wairimu, a mother of two, also wants the owner of the vehicle occupied by her husband that collided with that of Mr Weru held liable.

In her complaint filed at the Chief Magistrate court in Nyeri, she said the two vehicles were being driven carelessly and negligently.

Through her lawyer Muhoho Gichimu, Ms Wairimu said she and her two sons, one in university and the other in high school were totally dependent on the deceased, and that they lost their only support following his demise. "I am unemployed and cannot educate my children from proceeds of subsistence farming," she said
