Celeb Dopplegangers: 'Selina' and Christina Shusho

Celeb Profiles

Christina and Selina

By Sheila Kimani

What would you to if you met a person whose ‘outlook’ almost perfect matched yours?

Well, it is believed that every person might have a look a like in some place of the world. Unfortunately while most celebrities may quickly find their dopplegangers thanks to refferals from fans, it may be a little harde for “commoners” to find their look a likes.

One such spectacular comparison is that of Selina, the sassy actress in the “Mother in law show”  and Tanzanian gospel “powerhouse” Christina Shusho.

Selina

Aged 26, Catherine Kamau plays the role of “Selina”, a short tempered and over bearing lady whose daring guts always gets her quarelling and telling her mother in law off.

When she is not acting, Catherine is a mother to her seven year old son whom she loves very much, to the extent that she put off school in 2006 to take care of him.

Besides her successful acting career in Kenya, Selina affirms that she wiould like to work with Tom Cruise in one of those international movies. She would especially love to play the role of his girlfriend so he can rush in save her.

Christina Shusho

Having started of as a church cleaner, Christina was born of a humble background in Kigoma. While acleaning the church she eventually got the chance to join the church choir where she used her talents for praise.

A few years in the church choir and Christina decided to try recording her own music. Her first album ‘Kitu gani kinitenge na upendo wa Bwana’, granted her confidence in her vocal prowess. She followed it up with ‘Unikumbuke’ and ‘Nipe Macho’ which are popular in Kenya. So far, she has released up to 34 gospel songs.
