Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials have questioned chairman for National Cohesion and Integration Commission Mzalendo Kibunjia (right) over undisclosed issues.

Kibunjia was summoned to the commission and stayed there for more than an hour before driving out. He drove there at about 3pm yesterday and left shortly before 5pm. Both EACC officials and Kibunjia were mum on the issue.

“I have not been summoned. Who told you I was summoned? I am from having lunch now,” said Kibunjia when reached for comment.

Kibunjia is among 32 individuals who had applied to be considered for the positions of principal secretaries that EACC said were under investigations.

In the letter to Public Service Commission, EACC boss Halakhe Waqo provided a list of 32 individuals being investigated and had applied for the position of principal secretaries.

“We write to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated April 24. Kindly be informed that the commission is investigating the following persons for corruption and abuse of office related allegations and upon finalisation, appropriate charges maybe preferred against them,” Waqo said in the letter.According to the commission, appointment of the individuals to Government positions would infringe on Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
