Mombasa, Kenya: Police in Msambweni District are investigating leaflets found in Ukunda town warning members of a certain community to leave.

The leaflets found in Kwale County yesterday morning warned that the community should leave before the presidential swearing-in on April 9.

“It will just take us a short time to find the person behind the leaflets, which are hand written. This should not be the time to cause tension after a peaceful elections. I assure you that those in charge will not go far,” said the Msambweni OCPD Jack Ekakoro in his office in Diani, yesterday.

He added a few individuals may have written the leaflets.

The leaflets warn that police will not protect anyone and cite the recent killings of officers in Malindi to demonstrate security officers cannot contain chaos in the region.
