Leaders tell off Kazungu over Mudavadi

A group of leaders from Western Province have criticised Kaloleni legislator Kazungu Kambi over remarks that Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi should drop his presidential bid for Uhuru Kenyatta.

Gender Assistant Minister Manyala Keya described Kambi’s sentiments as personal, adding that Mudavadi will not be intimidated in his quest to take over from President Kibaki.

Councillors from Busia County also criticised the MP’s remarks and urged Mudavadi not to cede ground and not to accept any other post other than the presidential flag-bearer in the Jubilee coalition.

Addressing journalists in Busia town yesterday, the councilors led by Busia County Council chairman Charles Onyango urged MPs allied to Jubilee coalition to desist from making statements that are likely to create rifts between supporters of the two aspirants who are contesting for the coalition’s presidential ticket.

“We urge leaders  to stop making divisive statements on  behalf of the coalition,” said Onyango.
