Residents of Shamakhokho ward in Hamisi Constituency on Sunday refused to be addressed by Governor Wilberforce Ottichilo during a homecoming ceremony of Douglas Beru, an MCA.

The event, also attended by Deputy President William Ruto, turned chaotic when the governor was given an opportunity to speak, with the locals heckling and forcing him to cut short his speech.

“We are tired of your promises! Sit down,” a section of the crowd shouted, while others booed.

Former Governor Moses Akaranga who had invited Mr Ottichilo to address the crowd, had to calm down the surging crowds.

Efforts by chiefs to calm down the unruly crowd had turned futile, as the Deputy President watched in disbelief.

Ruto used the forum to outline the development agenda the Government had for the home of Opposition leader, Musalia Mudavadi.
