Water crisis leaves stench in Vihiga

Government institutions and Mbale residents have been suffering from a severe water crisis in the area which County Executive Committee Member Nixon Amendi, says is due to the county government's failure to pay the electricity bill, which has amounted to Sh2 million.

The Amatsi Water Company responsible for providing water services in Vihiga County, says it will not reconnect the water until payment is done in full.

A number of institutions located within the town, such as Mbale District Hospital, have suffered subsequently and are depending on other sources of water with constant and sufficient flow to run their operations.
